Common Questions

How do I register?

Fill out the fields on the account registration form to get started. When you place your first order you can fill in your address for billing/shipping and we’ll update your profile with your information.

Please note that we are unable to accept orders from online booksellers using third-party marketplace platforms such as Amazon, eBay, and Walmart.

How do I update my profile?

Anytime you need to change or view your account information use the login button at the top right of the page. Enter your email address and password to log into your account. When you are logged in, scroll to the bottom of any page and click on Edit Profile under My Account. From here you can make any changes needed.

Additionally, while viewing your account profile, you can:

  • View your past orders or service inquiries,
  • Create a shipping address separate from your billing address
  • Manage your wish list
  • Manage your favourites, and
  • View your shopping cart

How do I view my new or past orders?

To see your newly placed or past orders, go to My Account (accessible at the bottom of any page if you’re logged in) and click on View Past Orders.

This page will list all of the orders you have placed with us.

The 2nd last column of the list will inform you of the order’s current status. If the order has shipped you may click on the status to view further tracking information about the order.

How do I view past inquiries?

To see your new or past inquiries, go to My Account (accessible at the bottom of any page if you’re logged in) and click on View My Inquiries.

This page will list all of the service inquiries you have placed with us.

The last column of the list will inform you of the inquiry’s current status. If the inquiry has been responded to, you may click on the status to view your inquiry and the response.

How do I place an order?

If you would like to place an order with us, follow these steps:

  • Log into your account (at the top right of any page).
  • Browse the site for the book(s) you’d like.
  • Once you’ve clicked on a book, add it to your shopping cart by clicking on the Add to Cart button.
  • Once you’ve selected all the books you’d like, click the View Cart button in the same book window or the Cart button at the top right of the page.
  • Verify the books and quantities you’ve selected.
  • If everything is correct, click the Checkout button.
  • Verify your billing and shipping addresses.
  • Choose your shipping method (you will also have the option to use your own shipper) and click Proceed to Payment.
  • Enter your payment information and click on Proceed to Order Verification.
  • Review your order and click on Place order.
  • You'll receive order confirmation details which include shipping charges.
  • Once the order has been processed, you’ll receive a final confirmation including final shipping charges.

How do I create a Favorites List?

With the My Favorites feature you can add books directly to your shopping cart from the favorites list and you don't have to check your previous orders individually. Here's how to use it:

  • Sign into your account
  • Go to My Account (accessible at the bottom of every page if you’re logged in) and click on My Favorites. You can add books to My Favorites by clicking on the “heart” icon beside the book image.

How do I cancel an order?

First, find out the status of your order (see above for details) to see if we’ve already processed and shipped it to you.

If your order is still being processed, you can cancel your order by contacting us or by creating an Inquiry Request with our customer service team. Be sure to select the Cancel Order subject line option. Please include your order number and contact information as well as the reason you would like to cancel the order. Our customer service team will reply to your cancellation request.

Please note, if you cancel an order after the product has been processed or shipped from our warehouse, you will be responsible for the freight costs (both ways) as well as a 15% restocking fee.

What if there is a problem with my shipment?

We do our best to ship only top quality product. In the event that your order contains damaged or defective merchandise, we will refund the portion of the order for the damaged or defective book(s). If the amount is less than or equal to $50.00, an electronic coupon will be issued, redeemable on a future order. If the amount is over $50.00, you will have the option of an electronic coupon, a credit back to your credit card, or, for On Approved Credit customers, a credit to your account.

If your order arrives and you notice a shortage, shipping damage or other error, you must report it within 15 days of receipt of product. Call or place a Service Inquiry with our customer service team. Be sure to select the “Returns, Refunds or Replacements” subject line option. Please include your order number and contact information as well as a brief note about the problem you’re having.

Please do not return shipments to our facility without contacting our customer service team.

Please note, Book Depot does not accept returns for undamaged product.

How long until I receive my order?

Delivery times for your orders vary greatly based on many factors. Shipping destination and size of your order will directly influence how long your order will take to arrive.

How do I track an order?

If you are wondering about the status of one of your new or past orders, go to My Account (accessible at the bottom of any page if you’re logged in) and click on Past Orders.

How do I use the wishlist?

If you are unable to find a specific book on our website that you would like to purchase, or want to start for a “for later” list, simply search for the book (link to wishlist) and add it from a list of suggestions.

  • Sign into your account
  • Go to My Account (accessible at the bottom of every page if you’re logged in) and click on Wishlist. You can add books to your wishlist by clicking on the “Add to Wishlist” while shopping or by entering in a title or keyword and clicking on search.

Why doesn’t the site work properly?

In order to go through the Book Depot browsing/purchasing process you need to have JavaScript and your cookies settings enabled.

Will all books shipped match the cover images on the website?

Unfortunately we cannot guarentee that the book cover of the titles ordered will be the exact same as the website images. In a rare case the actual covers for a book might not match the one in the display picture. Please be assured these are still top quality books and the content will still be the same as described.

Are Retail Stickers Removed From the Books?

Many of our books do not include retail stickers. However, in cases where there are retail stickers on the books, they will not be removed before shipping the product. Upon delivery, please take care when removing the retail stickers as damages caused by sticker removal will not be accepted for a refund.

How do I ship internationally?

Can I resell these books on third-party marketplaces like Amazon, eBay and Walmart?

No, our publishing partners forbid our customers from selling on third-party marketplaces.
